Attitude Setting in Life - PARADISE

 Attitude Setting in Life

Attitude is the way one evaluates and perceives everything; so, it reflects in our personal and professional life. Thus, we can say that it is attitude that shapes life.

If one lives a life by neglecting attitude, a behavioral change occurs in all their actions, leading to an internal conflict.  While, everyone looks for a balanced happiness – bliss without conflict.

Always keep a check that LIFE gets along RIGHT Attitude - Attitude cannot be understood from the language used, nor from body language and expression, it is seen from the result of the actions. Success is what is created by each action that results in adding more and more value to one’s life, like climbing a ladder, it progresses systematically.

Attitude towards Life is set based on the value system one acquires. Count your actions that make life useful for many around as it is what is Life as far as I am concerned.  This was not my attitude when I was to earn for making my life. When I was a student, my attitude was in learning, not just as I enjoyed learning, but was as learning is required to make a life that helps in getting a job that gives earning.

In life one progresses along the attitude that may change according to focus. But all these focus haven underlaying stream of connection, that is the real-life attitude – not the focused one.

Attitude may attract all along life that may not be of any focus and consequence, but as you get along with people around someone may be watching you to see how you enjoy making positive impacts; thus, you may get noticed too.

It is that unseen component of attitude, which you may call it as the divine spiritual component undefeated in any situation. This is the credit and soothing ownership of individuality that makes life blissful, connecting others to attract to get appreciation, may not be just appreciation, but love from all those who are dealing in day-to-day basis.

Attitude has Physical – Emotional – Intellectual – Social – Spiritual Components. All of these are inseparable and felt by the people and associated with psychological aspect. Psychological aspects are shown through behavior that is based on character – but as social being it is conditioned based on the situations and focus. Evaluating situations to modify the behavior is the key attitude that makes one successful, smart, and practical.

At times attitude may not result in success as it also depends on the skill and environment / opportunity one has around, a follow-up action around attitude to create the environment and development of skill will determine performance. That will make present moments enjoyable, may be the base of many more actions ahead. Thus, by creating such moments connecting many around, one gets a cherishable experience. In fact, these are experiences to create more opportunities and improve skills and adding attitude. It is all seen more cyclic and highly performing. It gives life a greater dimension of fullness by spreading hope for many who will be crossing and a few who will be interacting around.

LIFE becomes thus a flow of actions – actions that will be useful for many around. Creative, learning, loving to make: LIFE = Live (Learn) In Full Enjoyment.

Attitudes are self-created; but can be molded and developed to govern the behavior. The behavior – attitude is set based on the needs.

The contact that can be with friends – family – relatives et.al. Identifying the best of those who will be in tandem and harmonious with one will be that decides the easy go in the attitude setting.

FAME - POWER to influence is a desire that all humans have, the mode and the style in using it could vary. Everyone wants to create their footprint – stamp – image – their ways to be accepted by others around us. All want recognition, achieving that can be either through power or can be through love, sharing and caring. At times, one, if not in a good company will become a social critic and waste of time. Good attitude is to be individual critic to rectify and resist from being so or not interacting with them. This attitude may not be seen as acceptable in short run but will find its longer term fruit.

Realizing personal interest and keeping passion helps in shaping attitude, or it is cyclic, if you have that attitude, you are bound to get it in shape. When you have that in shape in your portfolio, make and see that all around you will recognize it as you are confident, that is the best way to get out of criticism. All critics are fertilized by the fear and lack of confidence in you. Personality is that sense of self that one can show convincingly- with courage and maturity to all those around you.

Learning to ignore and create the space free without confusion is must to be happier in life. This is not being social but avoiding conflicts. But in many situations’ relationships are so much entangled, one has no option than to get into activities that are not of choice and are forced by those who are close to you, yes make your points – at times may be harsh. That is boldness and courage, so that you have not compromised. This could also lead to misunderstanding, but this shows you are clear, have matured vision and stay with what you believe is right. The path is clean only when all around you are wiser to know your wisdom and attitude, else can be mistaken during frictions.

Prayers

BENGALURU: Sir, can I meet you today to discuss my career in the National Defence Academy?” A high school student asked Dr TP Sasikumar, space scientist-turned-student counsellor. Dr Sasikumar agreed to meet him that afternoon. “The boy told me that he bunked school to meet me and gain some insight into his career. I told him that very moment that he is unfit for a job in the Armed Forces as they value integrity above all else. Bunking school does not signify this. I think he realised what I meant.”
Another day, an intermediate student from a corporate college in the city WhatsApped him to find out if he can meet him, to find the best American university for him. “He used to call me every morning and find out where I am. Just to gauge his attitude, I would ask him where he was and would tell him that I was in a place at least 30 km away. He would invariably say that was too far for him and that he could not make it. I told him that if he was planning to move abroad, he had to get used to commutes. If he could not make it in his own city, then going abroad may not be up his alley,” he says.
He has over 1.92K subscribers from across the world for 1,600 YouTube videos. From telling students how to break up their Maths syllabus to be able to score 100 per cent in their Board finals to helping them understand what career works for them, Dr Sasikumar, a resident of Hyderabad, does it all.
Dr Sasi is fluent in Telugu, Kannada, English and Malayalam and the latter makes him a hot pick in counselling events in the Middle East. “I am often invited to speak on radio chat shows in the Middle East. Sometimes I record the show from my home in Hyderabad and sometimes I am invited to the studios there,” says the scientist, who worked in the Department of Space for two decades. He was Director at Academic Staff College under University Grants Commission at the University of Calicut and was Deputy Director at Directorate General of Security, Cabinet Secretariat, New Delhi before taking voluntary retirement in 2009 to mentor the youth.
“I ensure I respond to every message, even if it means I am up the whole night to do that,” says the multitasker, adding, “I found many homemakers came to drop their children for my class. I felt they also need some value addition instead of just being glorified drivers who picked and dropped their kids. So one weekend, we went driving and chanted Lalitha Sahasranamam and understanding its significance. A Vastu, yoga and jyothish expert, Dr Sasikumar is also popular for conducting Skype and Facetime classes on Bhagavad Geeta.
group activities made fun
“Whenever I visit schools, I first ask the students the subject they think is tough. Then we mark the most difficult lessons and most difficult questions. Then with the help of students, we make a plan on how many hours we need to study to tackle this. When I finally tell them they need, say 18 hours, to tackle this, they feel happy. They feel it is very doable. Next, I make the students set the question paper and I swap answer sheets in such a way that one student gets to correct the answers of the other student. This gives students an understanding of how they write,” says Dr Sasikumar.

KOCHI: Sir, can I meet you today to discuss my career in the National Defence Academy?”A high school student from Hyderabad asked Dr T P Sasikumar, space scientist-turned-student counsellor. Dr Sasikumar agreed to meet him that afternoon.
“The boy told me that he bunked school to meet me and gain some gyan about his career. I told him that very moment that he is unfit for a job in the Armed Forces as they value integrity above all else. Bunking school does not signify this. I think he realised what I meant.”
Another day, an intermediate student from a corporate college in the city messaged him on WhatsApp to find out if he can help find the best American university for him. “He used to call me every morning and ask me where I am. Just to gauge his attitude, I would ask him where he was and would tell him that I was in a place at least 30 km away.
He would reply that it was too far for him and that he could not make it. I told him that if he was planning to move abroad, he had to get used to commutes. If he could not make it in his own city, then going abroad may not be up his alley.”
Dr Sasikumar is now the preferred ‘Counselling Guru’ of the twin cities. His popularity seems to be on the rise, with each passing day.
When Telangana was burning with the struggle for statehood and students were either taking part in the agitation or whiling away their time, silently and sweetly, Dr Sasikumar used to coordinate trips where he would take high school students to Golconda Fort to give them a history lesson. If the next day too was a holiday because of bandh, he would take them to the Jain Temple to teach them about Jainism as part of the Holiday Shiksha programme.
“That’s how I started engaging with students of the twin cities after I retired a few years ago. Today, I relish the fact that I could counsel over 8 lakh students through on-ground events, radio chats, phone and through my YouTube channel. I have  over 1,900 subscribers from across the world for 1,600 YouTube videos.”
From telling students how to break up their Maths syllabus in December to be able to score 100 per cent in their final exams to helping them understand what career works for them, Dr Sasikumar, a resident of Manovikas Nagar in Hyderabad, does it all.
Just last week, he was in Sharjah addressing students from 17 schools at a three-day seminar titled ‘Be a warrior, don’t be a worrier’. He was invited to speak at a meet in Chennai in 2018 where he addressed over 100 CBSE principals in Gulf. The principals, in turn, invited him to counsel the students.
“I am often invited to speak on radio chat shows in West Asia. Sometimes I record the show from my home in Hyderabad and sometimes I am invited to the studios there. Either way, once my one-hour counselling session ends (of course interspersed with over 30 calls from Indian students studying there), I also get around 1,200 WhatsApp messages. I ensure I respond to every message, even if it means I am up the whole night,” says the multitasker.
Recently, he also addressed  SR Engineering College at Warangal. Earlier this year, he was in the US to address three student camps.
“I found many homemakers came to drop their children for my class. I felt they also need some value addition instead of just being glorified drivers who picked and dropped their kids. So one weekend, we all went driving and chanted Lalitha Sahasranamam and understanding its significance.
He believes that his experience with students makes him what he is. He was Director at Academic Staff College under University Grants Commission at the University of Calicut and was Deputy Director at Directorate General of Security, Cabinet Secretariat, New Delhi before taking voluntary retirement in 2009.
He opted to be in Academics and Mentoring Youth to create dreams in them and enrich their skills towards Nation building. Dr Sasikumar initiated Mentors’ Navigation Workshop for College Teachers and reached out to colleges in Kerala.
He also had a two-year tenure as Management Professor in an Engineering College under Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University at Hyderabad.
How to get your teenager to study
Dr Sasikumar believes that jeans therapy works wonders on teenagers. “Sometimes, all that you need to do is stop being so harsh on them. Encourage them to wear their favourite jeans, T-shirt, perfume, give them some pocket money and ask them to hang out with their friends. Trust  me, when they come back home, they are all set to get back to their studies. Parents put too much pressure on them and in my experience, the jeans therapy is easiest, most affordable and most effective for teens,” he quips.
Most asked question to Dr Sasikumar:
What course should I take after my 12th class or intermediate?
